Banyule Community News is one such idea. Rosanna Rotarian Stan Gorr was searching for an idea to get local news out to the community of Banyule with the demise of the Leader Local Newspaper. The initial idea was to produce a publication which went to a gloss magazine type publication. However, this would require much more manpower than our club could handle so we began to talk about an online publication.
We formed a committee to discuss the best way to move forward with this project keeping in mind the amount of work it would take. But our club knew we were up for it. Most people source information from their mobile phones these days so after many discussions and meetings, we established a domain and the Banyule Community News website was born.
This publication is open to any community groups, schools, sporting clubs and government bodies such as the police, ambulance, fire stations, etc.
Organisations such as U3A, Probus, Rotary, Lions, Theatre companies, bird watching groups and other community based not for profit group are welcome to submit an article.
This website has resulted from the hard work of many members of the Rotary Club of Rosanna with the view to provide information from the community for the community for many years to come. The Rotary Club of Rosanna wishes to express its sincere appreciation to Glenda McCracken, one of its hardworking members who designed this website under the auspices of her business, AAA Web Design.
