Charges Following Preston Bus Stabbing

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested and charged two teens after a teenager was allegedly stabbed in Preston on Friday.
The pair were arrested by detectives in Albert Park overnight.
A 14-year-old boy from Heidelberg West has been charged with:
• intentionally cause serious injury,
• recklessly cause serious injury
• affray, and
• commit indictable offence whilst on bail.
He has been remanded by a bail justice to appear before a remand court for children.
A 16-year-old Albert Park boy has been charged with possess prohibited weapon without exemption. He has been bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
The charges follow an altercation on a bus travelling on Murray Road, on 2 June, about 4.15pm.
A 17-year-old boy from Reservoir was taken to hospital at the time with suspected life-threatening injuries.
It is believed the injured teen is currently in a serious condition.
