OLIVIA’S CAFÉ

It may look like a quaint country café, but Olivia’s in Whittlesea is so much more. Recently voted Best Café in City of Whittlesea, one visit and you will see why.

When Olivia’s opened its doors in town almost seven years ago, it was very much a family affair. We named the Café after my daughter, who at the time was an only child. Probably not a good move considering my now second child will probably expect a shop of her own soon!

Mum was in the kitchen, my brother manning the coffee machine and at one stage my sister was managing while I had some time off after having my second baby.

Although my siblings have moved on and mum has retired, there is still very much a strong sense of family and community here.

It really is a place where friends and even strangers, young and old come together, have a laugh, and enjoy not only the coffee, but the experience, and that really is what life is all about!

At Olivia’s, our focus is and has always been healthy, home-style cooking. Our made-from-scratch lasagne is one of our most popular dishes. And if you have yet to try our friends, well, these moist little almond and berry cakes sell out most days before they have even cooled from the oven.

I am extremely fortunate to have such an amazing team at the cafe, most of them locals themselves. They are a large part of how we have built such a strong community at the café. The exceptional service, the amazing coffee and relaxed atmosphere are just some of the reasons, I believe, the Café is so popular.

We are proof that ‘country coffee’ can be just as good as any Melbourne coffee. We have a talented and highly trained team of baristas at the café. We are constantly evolving our techniques and skills to bring our customer a full bodied yet smooth coffee, paired with perfectly textured milk.
